Ornithologia Kaleidocycle

$2,800.00

I find birds fascinating. I can’t call myself a birdwatcher by any stretch, but I’ve been known to run my bicycle off the path trying to follow a blue jay. This sculpture represents four different bird species that are particularly near and dear to me, with images of hummingbirds, Pileated woodpeckers, and the plumage of peacocks and blue jays.

This sculpture is a type of fidget or machine called a kaleidocycle. It’s essentially six pyramids joined together in a ring by hinges. The hinges rotate into the center of the ring to show four unique designs. This sculpture is about 4” across and 2” tall and is one of a kind.
